My Trip to Washington, D.C.: A Perfect Blend of History, Culture, and Food I finally made it to Washington, D.C., and wow, what a trip! The city is a fascinating mix of history, politics, and culture, and there’s so much to see and do. I spent a few days exploring the monuments, museums, neighborhoods, and of course, eating my way through the city. Here’s a rundown of my visit and some of the highlights I absolutely loved. The National Mall: A Stroll Through History First stop was the National Mall, which is basically the heart of D.C. I had heard so much about it, and trust me, it lived up to the hype. I kicked things off with the Lincoln Memorial—that giant statue of Honest Abe is even more impressive in person. The view from the steps, overlooking the Reflecting Pool with the Washington Monument in the distance, was one of the best views I’ve had in a long time. Next, I headed to the Washington Monument.
